Service Analyzer
Service Analyzer is typically used by technical teams and shared-services centers to support day-to-day operations of SAP systems. SUIM's SA applies a bottom-up approach, by cataloging each service offered by an IT services management unit: from service design, including calculations, acknowledgment and reporting, to billing, accounting and communications for all customer-oriented processes. In doing so, SA follows common IT service management standards.

A service catalog contains all the data about the services provided by the service provider (e.g. by your SAP competence center). The SA business service catalog consists in particular of the functions, typical applications (e.g. CATS, Time management, CRM, PS, MM), and benefits for the service customers' business processes.
SA estimate the required services per Business Unit for the upcoming budget period. SA facilities the budgeting and controlling for the service provider and business units.
Billing is conducted with the Service Calculator to calculate business and infrastructure services. It is calculating invoices that can be billed based on the contractual relationships (SLA's, project agreements, service agreement, etc.). It is based on the results of the controlling object calculator and contains all billing-relevant settings in the controlling objects and the service elements.
The SA is an extension of the ERP system and a link between the cost/service elements and the controlling objects.
The service portal is the interface between business unites (service consumers) and service providers. It provides all the essential information to service consumer and service provider. Typically, the service portal is integrated into the service provider's web interface.
